PIPS
six people get through.
Pips are the small signals that cut through the noise. This is the same idea, for the people you actually answer to.
four of six on the air
what it does
- ch 1 Six people. Six colours. Six fixed slots. Slot three is always yellow, whether or not anyone is in it. You learn the position once and then you never read a name again.
- ch 2 The menu bar tells you who, not how many. When someone writes, their segment lights in their colour. You know who wants you from across the room, without opening anything.
- ch 3 There is no feed. No threads, no channels, no unread count climbing into three digits, nobody you have to mute. Six people is the whole product.
- ch 4 Sign in once, with a link. No password to invent and none to leak. Type your address, click the link in your inbox — from your phone if you like — and you're on.
- ch 5 Your conversations live on your Mac. Messages relay through the server and stop there. Remove someone and their history goes with them, off this machine, for good.
before you download
- It opens on the first try. No warning to click past, no right-click workaround, nothing to allow in Settings.
- It lives in the menu bar. No Dock icon, no window in your way. It can start with your Mac if you want it to.
- It's still small. Not a web browser wearing a costume, so it doesn't eat your battery sitting still.
- It works on your Mac. Anything running macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple silicon or Intel.
- It's free, and there's no account to make. Just your email address, once.
